Dr. Rajan has Doctorate in Microbiology from Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute, India. Immediately prior to his current position, Dr. Rajan was Research Officer heading the documentation team at Natural Remedies Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore. His team involved in developing natural products database, patent filing, international registration of drugs, monographs for drugs & chemicals, development of custom databases for internal use etc.

Before his stint in Natural Remedies Pvt. Ltd., he was Program Officer in the Department of Environment & Forests, Govt. of India-supported program for developing ecosystem related databases. He has also hold positions like Research Officer in Shanta Marine Biotech Pvt. Ltd, & University of Kerala. He was instrumental in bringing out a database CD-Rom on Indian Medicinal Plants - flora medica indica - currently being marketed in India- while heading ibase information solutions, Trivandrum.

He has got gold medal for academic excellence in his post-graduation from Gandhigram Rural Institute (Deemed University), India.

Core competency: Biological databases, literature search & documentation. Custom databases, Data analysis & interpretation etc.

 

Dr. Priya R.S. M.Sc Ph.D - Research Co-cordinator

Doctorate in Applied Biology - acquired from Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute, India. More than 9 years of research experience in Plant taxonomy, hydrochemistry and phytochemistry of medicinal plants. Previously working as a 'Project Scientist' in Centre for Earth Science Studies, Trivandrum, Kerala, India. Published several international & national research papers.

Core competency: Developing plant databases (medicinal plant database) pharmacology and phyto-chemistry of medicinal plants.

 

Dr. Suja K.P - M.Sc. Ph.D - Senior Research Officer

Doctorate in Phytochemistry - Obtained her PhD from Cochin University of Science and Technology. Having 9 years of research experience. Previously working as Research Associate for 3 years at Bio-Organic Division of Regional Research Laboratory, Trivandrum, in a Department of Science and Technology sponsored Research Project on botanical pesticides. She has considerable research experience in synthetic chemistry also.

Before that she was working as a research fellow at Agro-processing and Natural Products Division of Regional Research Laboratory (CSIR), Trivandrum. She had developed antioxidant extract from oil seeds and isolated compounds from these extracts and standardized methodology for their activity evaluation. She has obtained an US Patent for the work on isolation of an antioxidant compound from sesame seed/cake. She had publications in International and national journals. Also has R&D experience at Travancore Cochin Chemicals Ltd, Eloor, Cochin.

Core competency: Literature search, cheminformatics & Preparation of chemical databases. Creating MSDS.

 

Mr. Renjith R M.Sc., - Research Officer

Master of Science in Bioinformatics -from Bharathiar University Coimbatore. Undergone training in all Major Bioinformatics Tools from SAI Bioscience Research Institute, Chennai.

Completed his academic project in Homology modeling of 21-kDa laminin-2-binding protein present in Mycobacterium leprae from University Of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore and participated in building p53 Protein sequence database. (Front end Used: VB, Back End-SQL ) from Bharathidasan College Of Arts and Science Erode. He has acquired the Brightest Student Award in the year 2004 From B.C.A.S Erode.

Core Comptetancy : Highly experienced with Bio tools and Software like- Blast, Fasta, ClustalW, Expasy Tools, Emboss Tools, Molbiol Tools and Molecular Visualization, modeling and Computer aided Drug designing tools like- Rasmol, Molmol, SwissPDB Viewer, DTMM, Hex and Autodock. Programming skils in C and Perl. He is experienced in annotating all major Bioinformatics and Chemo informatics Databanks.

 

Miss. Soniya Varghese M.Sc - Research officer

Post graduate in Biotechnology from Bharathiyar University, Tamil Nadu, India. She had one year research experience in the field of agriculture. She also had research experience in antimicrobial activities of marine algae in Regional Research Laboratory (CSIR) Pappanamcode, Thiruvananthapuram.

Mr. Shiras Ahamed. P, MSc Computer Science - Software Engineer (Database Architect)

Postgraduate in Computer Science from University of Calicut, Kerala, India. Experienced in Software Development. Previously he was a Programmer at National Informatics Centre (NIC), Kerala, India. He was a team member in Various Projects Implemented in the Government of Kerala. He used to write IT oriented articles in leading magazines.
